Adele- Have not seen you or Iris since mid 1970s when my lover and I stayed with you for a few days at Gualla. Met Iris when she moved into our house in Berkeley in summer of 1972. On thanksgiving day that fall, she told me "Did you know that you are gay?" I honestly didn't, and she proceeded to take me to a gay hippie commune in San Francisco for T-Day dinner with the turkey stuffed with a marijuana dressing, and the cranberry sauce laced with acid. From there off to the Stud where the Angels of Light were performing. She was right. I did not make it back to Berkeley for 2 weeks. So many memories of her, her cat Suki and her funny dog Sophie who ate every day at at least five different homes in Berkeley. Her introducing me to the Cockettes and Angels, and all kinds of fun people. And all the dancer friends, and tales of woe about her relations with Leonard Pitt. Her time in Paris and getting her disability payments sent to her there. My life has been so fun, rewarding, meaningful, all due to her moving into our house, and dragging me of to SF that November day. - Michael
